QARI SHAHID MEHMOOD QADRI

Qari Shahid Mehmood is without a doubt one of the most admired Sana-Khwans across the world. His journey began as he succeeded in winning the award for Bulbul-e-Madina (Voice of Pakistan) and then went on to be a part of the International Naat Association (INA) based in the United Kingdom. What makes him stand out from other Naat reciters is his very distinguished and individual style of praying

To say that Qari Shahid Mehmood is a talented individual is an understatement. He is talented in many ways, however his voice is what captures fans and leaves them in a state of perplexion, whilst at the same time his style of praying leaves many astonished and bewildered.

As a person himself Qari Shahid can always be found smiling as he has a very enlightened and warm personality. He is a very relaxed individual and what makes him even more likeable is how he takes time out to interact with his fans across the world. Once asked why he has developed such a bond with his fans, he responded by saying that "without them I wouldn't be where I am today. It is with the love and appreciation of my fans that I am able to go forward and recite Naats as much as I do". The love he holds for our Beloved Prophet Muhammed (SAW) is mirrored when he prays and almost loses himself in a trance like state.

He himself has written many Naats throughout his life as a Sana-Khwan and one of his most famous is "Mera Murshid Sohna". This in particular he prays for his Murshid Paak; Darvaish Khuda Mast Sufi Muhammad Ameen Qadri whom he loves dearly. His devotion for his spiritual leader is affectionate as well as passionate. The only way to see this love is to watch Qari Shahid pray "Mera Murshid Sohna" as this is where his heart felt emotions are truely released.
